Early Enrichment Classes

This is where it all begins. Designed specifically for our youngest students, Gymtime's early enrichment programs engage children and parents alike, and serve to stimulate infants' and toddlers' movement, motor skills, language development, socialization and more. Every class is held in a fun, play-based environment that is custom designed specifically for that program, and the curriculum is adapted to suit each individual child's needs.

Kitchen Little Cooking School

At Kitchen Little Cooking School, we believe in whole food, real food, unprocessed food and unrefined food. We use only whole foods, meaning foods in their Earth form: whole grains and beans, fruits and vegetables are a few of our favorites. We use only real food, meaning foods that actually exist in nature in some form. We use only unprocessed foods, meaning foods that have no preservatives and will indeed go bad if left out for too long. We use only unrefined foods, meaning sugars that are a direct derivative of where they came from: dates and maple syrup are at the top of our list.

Every recipe is written exclusively for Kitchen Little Cooking School and each week focuses on one seasonally appropriate whole food from the four food groups. From that one ingredient, we create two delectable dishes. The 16-week semester features six vegetables, five fruits, three legumes and two gluten-free grains. The last week is dedicated to fun: super foods in the spring, sea veggies in the summer and holiday cookies in the fall.

Our cooking curriculum encourages creative autonomy in the kitchen: nothing has to look “perfect” as long as our students are eating healthy and having fun. With our interactive and hands-on approach, we teach kids that food can be fun; that cooking can be creative; and that the kitchen can be an accessible place for artistic expression. Our program is designed to enhance small and gross motor skills as the children stir, pour and measure. Additionally, cooking with children promotes pre-math and pre-literacy skills in early childhood and is scientific in nature! Cooking allows children the opportunity to watch as ingredients come together and transform into something completely different. Recipes are delicious enough for kids and impressive enough for the whole family!

Every Kitchen Little Cooking School class contains a dash of nutrition, a pinch of action and a heaping spoonful of fun—all the while highlighting healthful habits and making good food happy food.

Creative Combos

It's time to paint, draw, sing, dance, color, cook and create! Our art, music and cooking classes will spark your child's curiosity, imagination and creativity. Each class is specifically designed to help children develop motor skills, socialization, and an understanding of the world around them. We believe children learn most effectively when free to choose their own interests, so our creative classes are built around the individual interests of our children and families, with guided support from Early Childhood Educators.

Sports & Tae Kwon Do

At Gymtime we believe sports are a vital part of both physical and mental development. Our sports classes teach children focus and self-discipline, while increasing their strength and coordination. From our state-of-the-art gym to our newly expanded Tae Kwon Do facility, each class is taught in an environment specifically designed for that activity.

Gymnastics Classes

At Gymtime, we simply love gymnastics. We've been teaching the sport for 30 years and relish the chance to share our passion with everyone from toddlers through teenagers. We maintain 10 coaches on staff, all of whom have been competitive gymnasts. Our newly expanded gym space is stocked with the same top-of-the-line equipment used at the USA Nationals Competition and has absolutely no physical limitations.

Whether your child is starting out as a beginner or seeking to solidify their skills, our gymnastics classes offer personalized instruction focused on building discipline and focus, learning to face fears, developing social skills, building core muscle strength, and of course, having lots of fun.

Summer Breeze Day Camp

2.6-year-olds to 5.6-year-olds

Summer Breeze Day Camp is an exciting five–day–a–week experience that combines two unparalleled resources: York Avenue Preschool's premier staff of Early Childhood Educators and Gymtime's one–of–a–kind, fun-filled facilities.

Co–directed by York Avenue Preschool's Admissions Director Nancy Baldaro and Early Learning Foundations' Director Victoria Versace McLaughlin, Summer Breeze Day Camp is overseen by the year–round staff of Gymtime and York Avenue Preschool–we do not hire temporary summer staff–assuring a safe, healthy and productive learning environment for your child from day one.

That said, this is camp, and the emphasis is on fun! Campers get the chance to utilize every aspect of Gymtime's expansive facilities, playing in our state–of–the art gym; experimenting in the Gymtime Kitchen, exploring music, arts and crafts; and enjoying the library–plus the added bonus of outdoor playground time and on-site water activities.

At the beginning of camp season our Early Childhood experts will help younger, non-separated campers through a gradual separation process that will prepare them to start preschool in the fall.
