Many of you have probably been following the news about the devastating impact of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan, known locally in the Philippines as “Yolanda,” ravaged the central part of the country, leaving more than 600,000 people displaced. What’s being called one of the world’s strongest tropical storms on record has affected an estimated 11 million people. And organizations around the world are now racing to raise money and get donations of food, water and medical supplies to the affected region.

It is during times of tragedy like this one that New Yorkers, and our community here at Gymtime, are particularly adept at coming together to mobilize and offer support to those in need, just as we did one year ago following Hurricane Sandy.

The Gymtime Foundation will be raising money for Doctors without Borders, who have been on-site serving the community since the area was first devastated. The Gymtime Foundation will match each donation for the cause. Please make your check out to the Gymtime Foundation to help with the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Efforts. We were keep you updated with the amount raised.

The Gymtime Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, was established by Michael and Bonni Branciforte, founders of Gymtime Rhythm and Glues and York Avenue Preschool, to raise funds for causes dedicated to children’s health and environmental issues.
