1. Santa Monica, LA

From its iconic pier to the colorful characters of Venice’s Ocean Front Walk, this part of Los Angeles has plenty to entertain all the family. Relax in the sand, take beginners surf lessons and stock up for family meals at the local farmers’ market.

Play: At Ashland Park where the kids playground is in the shape of a ship
