Summer-Inspired Sculpture Art
SHARED by: Jessica Hayward, Director of Art and PEP
In the PEP room, we’re constantly seeking inspiration from the external environment. Now that summer is here, we looked to bring bold and bright (mini) sculptures, inspired by sculptor Joel Shapiro into the classroom and the hands of our smallest makers.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Model magic
- Pipe cleaners
- Dried pasta
- Markers
- Paper plates
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Use the paper plate at your base. Allow your child to play and manipulate the magic mold in any shape. Place decorative materials including dried pasta and pipe cleaners to stick into the mold. Finally, use markers to add color the plate and the mold itself. Once you’re done, let the mold sit for 2 hours, untouched to dry in place.
