The Gymtime Kitchen whips up delicious and nutritious dishes each day, using natural and organic ingredients that get children excited about healthy eating!  Our creative cooking classes use tasty recipes that incorporate whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits and vegetables. Gymtime’s cooking curriculum encourages children to use all five senses, starting with the initial ingredients to the last bite of their yummy dish. Fine motor skills flourish as our budding chefs focus on measuring, mixing, kneading and more. Older children incorporate their math and science skills while using more sophisticated cooking techniques. Each child takes their finished product home at the end of class to share with the whole family.

Who knew DARK chocolate could actually be good for you? It contains loads of nutrients and antioxidants that help protect the body. Just remember, a little bit goes a long way – it IS still chocolate.

Chef Carla’s “Healthy” Chocolate Sauce:

Combine equal parts agave nectar and unsweetened cocoa powder in a small bowl (1 tbs of each is plenty for a single serving). Then, stir in some canola oil (1/2 – 1 tsp) until you are happy with the consistency. Drizzle over the top of frozen yogurt, or dip fresh fruit slices using kebab sticks!
