Karyn Smith, M.Ed
Assistant Director of Early Learning Foundations

Karyn, an early childhood educator for nine years, holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has recently completed a dual advanced certificate at St. John’s University in School Building/School District Leadership.

Working at Early Learning Foundations has helped Karyn make a positive impact on the lives of young children and has given her the opportunity to grow as an educator.  Becoming the Assistant Director of Early Learning Foundations is a dream job for Karyn. Her new position encompasses all the things that she loves best about teaching: hands-on interaction with children, partnership with parents, and the ability to mentor and guide fellow teachers.

Karyn’s professional interests include promoting diversity in education and implementing an integrated early childhood curriculum. An avid learner, she continues to attend conferences and workshops throughout the tri-state area.

Although education is her passion, she also loves fashion and creating her own jewelry.

Prior to teaching 3’s and 4’s at Early Learning Foundations, Karyn was a head teacher at Montclare Children’s School (formerly Claremont Children’s School).
