Lena Vollaro, the wife of Coach Chris and former preschool teacher, was kind enough to share the delicious recipe for her homemade kale chips. This savory snack is both healthy AND tasty (ask Chris, he’ll tell you himself)!

What You’ll Need:

  • Bunch of Kale
  • Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese (optional)
  • Red Pepper Flakes or Cajun Spices (optional)

What You’ll Do:

  • Preheat oven to 300 Fahrenheit
  • Wash and rip kale into 1-2 inch pieces. Leave out the rib
  • In a large bowl, mix kale with a small amount of olive oil (just enough to coat), sea salt and black pepper
  • Coat pans with olive oil and place kale in a single layer on each pan
  • Sprinkle parmesan cheese, red paper flakes or cajun spices on kale before baking (optional)
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until dry and crispy (may take up to 40 minutes)
