Fourth of July Treats

Use the star shaped cookie cutter in both of these patriotic, kid-friendly recipes.
Magic Fruit Wands

- 1 Pint of Fresh, Organic Blueberries
- 1 Seedless Watermelon, Sliced into 1 inch thick pieces
- 8 Skewers
- Star-Shaped Cookie Cutter (one per child)
What You’ll Do:
- Wash and dry the blueberries.
- Using the star cookie cutter, cut out eight watermelon stars.
- Skewer the bananas and the blueberries and top with the watermelon star.
Red, White and Blue Cookies
What You’ll Need:
- 1 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour, plus more for rolling
- 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
- 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/8 Teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
- 3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
- 1/3 Cup Apple Sauce
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Red and Blue Food Coloring
- Star-Shaped Cooking Cutters
What You’ll Do:
- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Slowly mix in the maple syrup, apple sauce and vegetable oil.
- Chill dough in the refrigerator for one hour.
- Flour a cutting board and a rolling pin. Roll out the dough into 1/8 inch thickness and use your star-shaped cookie cutter for your stars.
- Paint the dough with the blue and red food coloring.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
