The 37th annual Macy’s Fireworks show is sure to impress. With the theme, “It Begins with a Spark” and a synchronized soundtrack curated by Usher, expect 25 minutes of pyrotechnics at its best. Declare Independence 
Visit the Lefferts Historic House, the 17th century farmhouse in Prospect Park for a patriotic celebration for the whole family. Visit Lady Liberty
What better day to re-open Lady Liberty? After being closed due to the damage done by Superstorm Sandy, the Statue of Liberty will re-open to the public on Independence Day. While Lady Liberty herself remained relatively unscathed, her island suffered severe damage. Visitors will notice newly built walkways, railings and buildings. Note: Children must be 4 feet-tall to go up to the crown and reservations must be made in advance. 8:30a.m. – 6:15p.m.; Visit Statue Cruises to look for ferry times and locations.

History of Ice Cream
A summer celebration is not complete without some ice cream! Have a taste of ice cream made from popular recipes dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Using an old-fashioned ice cream crank, your family will help make unique ice cream flavors, including orange flower water. Yum! Independence Day at Children’s Museum of Manhattan 
Visit the Children’s Museum of Manhattan for some festive kids crafts. Children of all ages can work on a red, white and blue Lady Liberty Sculpture and children ages 4 and under can make a fireworks-inspired collage using confetti and metallic paper.
