This Sunday, Gymtime NYC Bronze and Copper Teams will be competing in the Hunger Gymnastics Challenge at the Athletic Arts Academy in New Jersey. Based on the popular book series, The Hunger Games the meet is slightly different than your traditional gymnastics competition! Team spirit is always encouraged, but at the Hunger Gymnastics Challenge it is brought to another level. Gymnasts, or Tributes as they are called at this meet, wear face paint (we’ll be adding glitter to ours) and have team chants to intimidate opponents. In addition to the four apparatus (beam, bar, vault and floor), Teams will compete in four bonus challenges:

  • Strength – 2-Minute High-Bar Pull-Up
  • Speed – 2-Minute Jump Rope
  • Endurance – 2-Minute Balance Beam Jumping
  • Teamwork – 2- Minute Gymnastics Trivia

The Hunger Gymnastics Challenge is a team competition with the ultimate goal of winning the banner for Ultimate Survivor. Check back on Monday for the results!
