Books to Help Guide Separation

SHARED by: Katherine Grier, librarian, York Avenue Preschool
If your first-time or returning preschooler needs a little encouragement, try sharing these books about separation and what to expect at school. Some, like The Kissing Hand and Wemberly Worried, are timeless classics.
Others, like Foxy and Daniel Goes to School (which I particularly recommend because it deals with Daniel separating from his dad, rather than his mom) are more modern. All are fun and loving stories that are sure to help ease worries and get even the most reluctant child excited for September.
