She is a hard-working coach with high expectations, so it’s no surprise that her students always look polished and strong at the end of the year. Learn more about Liz below!

What is your role at Gymtime? Coach

What is the best part of your job? Seeing the confidence that my students gain from acquiring new physical skills.

What was your first job? A coach! It’s the family line. My parents have owned and operated a gymnastic club outside of Buffalo, NY for nearly 40 years. By the time I was 13-years-old, I became more interested in teaching than participating in the sport. As early as 7-years-old, I remember them letting me “double spot” some simple skills with them.

Where did you grow up? Buffalo, NY

What is your favorite activity to do outside of work? I love to explore and re-explore city neighborhoods (and parks) with my husband, Greg (aka Mr. Greg). This includes a number of activities: walks, restaurants, greenmarkets, museums, book stores, shows…the list goes on!

What would the title of your autobiography be?  “In my Humble Opinion…”

What is something most people would be surprised to learn about you? I’m a crazy, uninhibited dancer!

If you could meet one person dead or alive, who would it be? My late paternal grandfather. He was a physical education teacher who started backyard gymnastic classes in the early 1950s before opening his own club in 1974, just two years before his death. While I never met him, his influence on my family’s life has been monumental. My mother began backyard classes with him when she was six and went on to take over the business with my father. My younger sister just completed four successful years as a Division 1 gymnast at a Big Ten school and I continue to carry on the tradition here at Gymtime.

What is something you never leave the house without? (besides your wallet, keys and phone!) Water bottle, ipod and a pen.
