In the state of New York, more than 1 in 5 children do not know where their next meal is coming from. Luckily, you don’t have to travel around the world or be a grownup to help people in need. This Halloween, Gymtime and Early Learning Foundations families can help their less fortunate neighbors and have fun at the same time, thanks to City Harvest’s Truck or Treat initiative.

Along with their candy bags, participating children will trick-or-treat with truck-shaped collection boxes. Each 25¢ they collect along their route will allow City Harvest to offer a pound of nutritious food to a hungry New Yorker. It could not be easier. Trucks will be handed out to children the week of halloween and will also be available at the front desk.

If you’re looking for a family lesson in generosity and giving to kick off the holiday season, this is a convenient and easy opportunity.TruckOrTreatLogo
