Make a Garden Salad
SHARED By: Karyn Smith, Assistant Director at Early Learning Foundations Preschool
There are so many fresh vegetables available in the summer. A great way to get your child interested in eating these vegetables is to talk about the different parts of the plant and what it needs to grow from a seed into something you can eat. Gather vegetables for a traditional garden salad and point out which vegetables grow above ground and which grow underground. Chop up your ingredients and make the salad together.
Ingredients for a Traditional Garden Salad:
- Lettuce
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Craisins (optional)
- Shredded Cheese (optional)
- Vinaigrette
Enjoy this simple salad with your child all summer long!
