Delicious baked apples take a new, healthier spin on a traditional apple dessert.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 4 Fuji Apples
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter, Cold and Diced
  • 3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats, Uncooked
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon, Ground
  • Pinch of Salt
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  1. Remove the stems and seeds from the apples. Core to 1/2 inch to the bottom of the apple.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F. Drizzle lemon juice over exposed flesh of apple.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, butter, oats, maple syrup, cinnamon and salt.
  4. Press the mixture into each apple and place in a baking dish. Add boiling water into the baking pan (the water should raise no higher than 1/2 inch from the bottom of the pan).
  5. Bake until the top is golden and the top is tender, about 35-40 minutes.
